What Causes Dizziness And Fainting While On Morphine?

My 83 yr old mom has been taking 15mg time released oxy for 16+ years. Medicare refuse the drug this year and she taking 15mg morphine time released. She is experiencing week spells and dizziness and says her legs feel like they are falling out from under her and she is going to pass out. She has severe spine due to arthritis and has to use a walker for every step . Can the dizziness and feeling like passing out be a side effect of the new pain med?

Hello,
Yes it is possible that she is having side effects from the morphine. The doctor may need to talk to medicare to get the oxycodone prescribed. It is also possible that she is having some withdrawal syndrome since oral oxycodone is stronger than oral morphine.
