Hello,

As you have said, you have have unusual drowsiness, mood changes, racing heartbeat and discomfort.

Yes, there may be drowsiness due to Omeprazole but its very rare. Even if I consider this drowsiness is due to Omeprazole, it is difficult to consider that other things like racing heartbeat or mood changes are due to this drug.

So, i would like to suggest you to check if anything is wrong other than taking this drug.

For this, i would like to ask you:

1. Is there weight loss?
2. Is there any pain anywhere anytime?
3. Do you take any other medicine?
4. Do you have any known illness?
5. What time of day you feel drowsy and dizzy? Or all the time?
6. Are you sad or seriously pre-occupied with any matter in your life?
7. Is there any difficulty in breathing?

I should know why you take omeprazole so that I could have change the medicine.

As I do not know your condition due to which you used to take Omeprazole, I cannot change the medicine. But If you prefer to stay at Omeprazole, you can reduce the dosage to 10 mg - 20 mg. 40 mg is a higher dosage.

May be due to this, you used to have drowsiness. I would also like to give some tests as I do not want to miss any chance of other condition if present:

1. Complete Blood Tests
2. Liver Function Tests
3. ECG

Please post the answers and Test Results so that a doctor from healthcaremagic.com can follow you up and can give you the next course of treatment.

Do not worry as we have very good and skilled and experienced doctors.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
