What Causes Dizziness Along With Chills And Shortness Of Breath?

My 92 year old mother is in terrific health. She has however had a few bouts of light headedness; extreme cold and the shakes; sometimes shortness of breath. Has had every test to rule out heart; clot, etc. Doctor said it is just vesa vegal syndrome and nothing can be done. When I research it; her symptoms don't seem to be in line. Any other suggestions on what it could possibly be?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

These are the nonspecific type of symptoms which is pretty common in an elderly and there is nothing to worry. Sometimes diet may be the cause. Avoid giving spicy and heavy meal, encourage her for drinking water and extra vitamin supplements may help her a lot, but for the specific cause it is difficult to find out neither it could be there.

Hope I have answered your query, let me know for further assistance.
