What Causes Dizziness After Inhaling Burnt Plastic Fumes?

Hello, I have cooked some oven chips and I think some of the plastic from the bag got cooked with them, as when I opened the oven there was a burning plastic smell. The Chips looked fine, but when I was eating them some tasted really weird. In the end I stopped eating them and spitted the last mouthful. I now feel really weird and light headed.

Hi Dear ,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have dizziness after inhaling burnt plastic fumes which contains polyurethane which is toxic. There are several harmful substances such as volatile organic compounds, known as VOCs, which are cause loss blood pressure which leads to dizziness.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take acetaminophen and wash face properly with plenty of water and keep on inhaling fresh air. Steam inhalation and nasal saline rinses will be beneficial for you. If any symptoms occurs consult doctor without any delay and get complete examination done and start treatment accordingly because condition sometimes become complicated.
