What Causes Dizziness After A Dental Procedure?

Hi. I had number 7 lower removed yesterday as it had an periodontal abscess. The tooth did not come out with the whole bag of puss. I feel quite weak and I developed a slight pain at the base of my tongue and the half of half of my head. I feel a bit dizzy as well. The blood clot is in the tooth socket though. Could that be sign of infection please?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your query dizzy feeling after dental extraction can be due to side effect of the local anaesthesia that is given to you prior to surgery, however it can also be simply due to exertion that is caused during dental extraction procedure..

This can also be due to septicemia that can be due to transmission of bacteria into the blood stream from the site of infection..

Nothing to worry about it as the symptoms will resolve soon..
As of now you should take a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and do cool compresses over the cheek..
In case if symptoms does not resolve in 2 to 3 days consult a Physician and get evaluated..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
