What Causes Disoriented Feeling In The Mornings While On Donepezil And Venlafaxine?
My mother (age 84) recently started taking Memantine 5mg for memory loss. She was already on Donepezil 10mg and continues taking. She also had her Venlafaxine 75mg increased to 1 capsule 75mg + 1 capsule 37.5 mg once daily about the same time. She tells me she s been feeling jittery in the mornings and just wants to go back to bed. Would either Memantine or the increased dose of Venlafaxine cause this?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Venlafaxine has more chance of causing this type of side effect than either of the other 2 drugs.
Although specific interactions between the Donepezil and Memantine against the Venlafaxine could also cause that jittery feeling.
My feeling is that the increase in the Venlafaxine is most likely responsible.
Hope I have answered your query.
