What Causes Discomfort In Throat?

recently I've noticed that there is something in the back of my tongue, after doing some research, I think it is the epiglottis. It's been 2 weeks that I feel something stuck in my throat. I've never seen this thing inside my throat. What should I do, what can it be?

thank you.

Hi,
Epiglottis is a normal structure behind the tongue. It won't cause foreign body sensation unless it is infected and swollen, in that case you will have severe pain and difficulty in swallowing.
This sort of sensation that you feel could be due to different reasons
1.postnasal drip
2.viral pharyngitis
3.granular pharyngitis
4.reflux disease
Or even due to irritation caused by using fingers to touch the posterior pharyngeal wall.
Go for saline gargles and avoid stressing out.
