What Causes Discomfort In Throat While Swallowing?

I am a 59 yo male who woke up this morning feeling like something is lodged in my throat, I cant shallow it and get it down and I can't get it to the point I can spit it out. it feels like mucous and not anything solid?
Any thoughts? YYYY@YYYY

1. Going by your symptom of painful swallowing it seems to be painful dysphagia, you may check with an ENT doctor for necessary examination and investigation, and continue with:

.bland and soft diet,more of milk, avoid hot drinks and spicy foods
. Inj. Neurobion and B complex syrup.
