Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, My name is Nicole. A couple of evenings ago I was sitting on the couch and I had an experience of discomfort in my upper abdomen, in between where the rib cages meet. I got up from the couch and soon the pain became unbarrable. It didn t matter what I did I could not get rid of the pain. I do not know how long it lasted, I didn t look at the clock. It did eventually ease up and now it feels like a bruise under my skin. I had trouble sleeping last night as this same area was causing my discomfort.
I can certainly understand your concern towards your upper abdomen discomfort, which could be most commonly due to gastritis pain , i would like to know whether is it burning type of pain or not?, is it radiating to somewhere? any associated vomiting?
I suggest you to take an omeprazole tablet before breakfast, avoid spicy foods and food on the streets and maintain regular eating hours.
Post your further questions if any, I will available to take up your follow up questions
Thank you
