What Causes Discomfort In The Underneath Part Of Breast?

Last month and again this month I am experiencing discomfort/pain (like a pulled muscle) in the underneath part of my right breast. I am menopausal and have not experienced this before. No lumps, etc, just the pulled muscle feeling that progresses for a few days then disappears.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There is hormonal changes observed in women in menopause. They will affect all the body especially when it comes to increased size and sensitivity of the breasts. This explains the discomfort you feel.

Just take paracetamol. Some of my patients finds it helpful by applying cold compresses or massaging with essential oils. You can run an ultrasound of the breasts. Mammogram is also recommended in menopausal women. Discuss it further with your caring doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
