What Causes Discomfort In The Chest Followed By Cough?

I will be sitting studying and suddenly feel a light thump in the middle of my chest just to the left of my sternum and it makes me cough just once. I feel the thump up my chest and to my throat. This happens ever so often but it seems more so when Im sitting. Does this sound like a heart issue?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I do not think it might be related to heart, but most probably to bad posture.

Every time you sit for the study should make some breaks. Try to make some simple exercises during the day to keep your muscles and joints in movement.

If the symptoms would get worse, should consult with your caring doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
