What Causes Discoloration On The Side Of Scrotum After Applying Moisturizing Cream?

I have had an itchy scrotum and penis for a year and, assuming it is dryness from the peeling skin on my penile, have been applying moisturising cream. Today, however, I noticed discolouration on the left side of my scrotum, creating a pale/white patch. Should I be worried? What is this?

Hi,

1. As the history and the symptoms date back to 1 year, thus it could be scrotal eczema [dry eczema], a type of fungal infection, but since unable to examine you directly, thus you should consult your GP or a Dermatologist for direct physical investigation and appropriate medicine(s), till then you can start with hygienic measures:

1. Washing groin twice daily with anti-fungal shampoo or trifla decoction.
2. take anti-fungal cream and tablets after a consultation with your attending Physician.

PS. because the scrotal area [genital region] remains moist, thus moisturizing cream could lead to fungal infection like jock itch, so stop it and visit a doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
