What Causes Discoloration Of The Thumb Finger?

Hi, i just realized just as i was going to wash my hands that the palm of my hand, only in the section of the thumb, was very very pale and very distinctively purple ; it is something that never happened before (to my knowledge at least) and got me really surprised and curious as to what it could be-- now my hands are okay and i do not have that purpleness at all. Any ideas?

Purple doesnt indicate any serious illness.If it is associated with numbness or any discolouration with tingling then u need to consult a doctor.thats it.The reason might be due to any disturbance of circulation to thumb for fraction of seconds thats it.
