What Causes Discoloration Of Skin After Applying Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream?

Hi I used a small amount if my triamcinolone acetonide cream on my face for a sma patch of esczema. When I woke up that area was lighter than the rest of my skin. So I suppose bleached it. It s mildly hard to see. Will it go back to normal and how long will it take to return to normal?

triamcinolone acetonide cream is a steroid and pigment alteration is one of the side effect. However, the mechanism by which hyopigmentation occurs is not clear. Linear extension of the hypopigmentation is due to lymphatic uptake of steroid crystals.
hypopigmentation will go back to normal, will take approx a mont to year depending upon amount of hypopigmentation.
