What Causes Difficulty In Walking While On Gabapentin?

I am taking two 300 mg Gabapentin four times a day as treatment for trigeminal neuralgia. I ve been taking this for approximately five years, initially smaller dosage, of course. I ve been experiencing difficulty in walking a straight line, have stumbled a lot, drop and/or spill something every day. My neurologist has not been helpful saying I apparently I have a choice between between the side effects of the medicine or having pain. Can you help me? Sorry, did not realize there was a charge. I am not interested.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As there are definite gait disturbances, the dosage of Gabapentin is not appropriate for your motor system.

In my opinion, you should discuss the issue with your doctor to lessen the dosage of Gabapentin and add another molecule with a lesser side effect profile for pain relief.

Assisted physiotherapy, pulse wave laser shots are also the best modalities to get help forehead.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
