What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing?

Question, what do you do when for instance, since Monday I cannot swallow water and/or food it get s caught in my throat and when I do I feel like I m choking and the liquids come back up! I am going to the ER tomorrow and have to wait five day for a GI doctor. I have lost about 13 pounds. Plus I cannot get rid of the hiccups. The medical system certainly is broken.

Difficulty in swallowing for solids and liquids both can be due to many diseases.To differntiate between these disease we need to run some tests on patients.
eg.we will need to do barium swallow and meal(x-ray for esophagus and stomach) or we can directly do upper esophageal endoscopy depending on patients condition and availabilty of test.Also we will need to run some blood tests.
According to your symptoms you will need to do these test or whatever your doctor suggests.
only after these tests the exact diagnosis of your disease can be made.
