What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing And Eating?

My friend has difficulty swallowing, and now talking. He has been to every doctor around. It sounds sort of like ALS, but he also has headaches. He is 57, and it continues to get worse. He has trouble eating and swallowing, and talking. What could it be? He has tests and XRays and etc.
