What Causes Difficulty In Passing Urine?

okay.. basically, i ve had a problem the past few days, well, it s been going on for a few months now, but it s only recently got REALLY bad! I m desperate for a wee, but when i try and go, i cant, i ve tried drinking loads of water, but all it makes me do is need to wee more, and then i can t get it out. But when i do try and go, and even a tiny little bit comes out, i get this sudden, sharp pain in the bottom of my stomach, like theres a massive weight about to come out from where i pee but it feels like its being stopped. Its become horrible, and i cant go out anywhere coz i feel so grotty and nasty :(

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, the difficulty in passing urine even after drinking plenty of liquids indicate a possible obstruction in the urinary system in terms of calculus in the majority of the cases.

In my clinic, I do recommend a patient to undertake an ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis which will delineate the details of kidney, ureter and bladder with final diagnostic clues.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
