What Causes Difficulty In Eating In A Child After An Episode Of Seizure?
I want to ask a question about my brother s health. He is 7 years old and very weak and weighs only 19.9 kgs. He got seizures after some days or months . First seizure was observed in february 2012, at that time he lost awareness and sight too but talking continuously. But after that he lost only awareness during seizures and chew something in the throat which doctors fail to identify. Before he was treated with tegretol and sodium valporine medicines but at present the tegretol is replaced by oxetol drug. He doesn t eat anything on his own but forcibly. Also when dose of drug is incresed , he feels anxiety and dizziness. Please tell us what he chew during seizure and how long it will take to cure this disease completely. -sonia
Seizures can be very complex and come from many different causes. In order to determine the prognosis (possible outcomes) for a patient, it is critical to know the causes of the seizure. Seizures may manifest with complex motor behaviors like chewing motions, and so a person may show these movements without anything actually being present in the mouth or throat. Doctors should do a complete work up for the reason for the seizure, and this will help determine the underlying cause and the expected outcome. Sometimes seizures last a lifetime, and sometimes kids outgrow them. If the seizure is caused by something like an infection or tumor, treating those may cure the seizure as well.
