What Causes Difficulty In Conceiving Despite Having Normal TSH Levels?
hi.. I am 29 years old (height:151 cm and weight: 70 kg) and suffering from hypothyroid (TSH: 8.2) and PCOS problem. Doc told me just 2 months ago that I am not ovulating regularly. I am taking thyronorm, one folic acid tablet from last six months and Metformin 1000mg per day from last two months. Now my endocrinologist told me that my thyroid is in control (TSH: 3.9). I am trying to conceive from last one year but didn t find any luck till now. so what should be the line of treatment for me now?
Anovulation is the important cause of infertility.Treatment with fertility drugs like Clomiphene and hormones are required to increase the chance of pregnancy.Drugs like clomiphene induce ovulation and help in pregnancy. I would recommend testing the hormone levels FSH, TSH, LH, CBP, AMH and S. Prolactin.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
