What Causes Difficulty In Breathing And Profuse Night Sweating?

Hi Dr. Rynne. Just received results of my Mediastinoscopy-Classic Hodgkins Lymphoma. My Doc is setting up a PET scan. Should there be a blood test too or did the vial taken pre-procedure enough. My thymus gland was enlarged since the CT scans 6 months earlier. The surgeon said the thymus is symptom of Hodgkin. My only symptoms is some difficulty breathing and just recent night forhead sweating. Can swelling of front of neck low, to clavicle (the thorasic outlet) be a symptom?

Hello,

Enlargement of thymus may compress trachea lead to respiratory difficulty. Night sweats may be due to lymphoma.

Also, check for hilar lymph node enlargement or trachea blockage or lymphatic obstruction or pneumonia that may cause breathing difficulty.

Please get it done a chest x-ray, complete blood examination, pet scan and fever profile.

Then consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
