What Causes Difficulty In Breathing And Blockage In Nose After Intake Of Alcohol?

The activities of the previous night involved some alcohol consumption as well as tobacco from a hookah and a group of friends. I did not eat anything unusual or drink too much, but when I woke up I felt like I needed to vomit. During this process, I was having a lot of difficulty breathing, which I was then able to pinpoint as being a stuffed nose. I've had my share of stuffed noses, but this nose I have currently is stuffed to the point where no air can get in. Normally after blowing my nose a few times I can get one nostril to have very minor airflow, but this time I cannot.
Sometimes I get minor allergies, but those mostly occur in the spring and summer, never really in the winter. My only guess would be the tobacco from the hookah I shared with friends caused a lot of second hand smoke which clogged up my sinuses, and maybe I swallowed some smoke accidentally to induce the vomiting.
I live on a college campus about 25-35 minutes away from home and my usual doctor. I was wondering if I should go get his opinion, or if some rest and over the counter medicines would help reduce the swelling of my sinuses.
Thank you.
