What Causes Difficulty Breathing?

What could cause an inability to inhale deeply? Breathing regularly, no exertion, just can t get in enough air on deep breaths. Feels as though you may be suffocating (gasping). Doesn t happen all the time, it s been two days. It happened a few weeks ago, and not for the last two days, it happens again. Sitting up, laying down, doesn t matter you still gasp for air. Like having to yawn, the wide mouth open inhale, without sufficient air.
