What Causes Difference The Size Of Pupils?

I noticed my son (in Australia) had unequal pupils as he was talking to me. His right pupil was a little larger than his left. He has had several severe anaphalactic episodes over the past 2 years. At present he is fit and healthy, controlling this prob. with a very strict diet, no tick contact and controlled exercise + low stress. It's complicated and orig. related to tick bites apparently. He carries an adrenalin pen just in case symptoms appear.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Unequal size of pupil can occur mainly because of brain related or eyes related factors..For example.
1.Brain space occupying lesion or mass
2.Disturbance in sympthetic or parasympthetic ( autonomic nervous system) .
3.nerve palsy
4.Brain injury
5.drug intoxication etc
I would recommend first get him checked by an opthalmologist , and neurolgist and discuss further about above mentioned likely causes. As it may need some important investigations to rule out particular factor.
