General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi there

Generally viral gastroenteritis is self limiting, you should have been fine in 2 or 3 days. But since today is Day 5 of diarrhoea and other symptoms, I would advise you to get a couple of blood tests and stool examination done.

Antibiotic should show its effect by around 48 after starting treatment. If not better even after 2 days of starting antibiotic, pls visit the doctor.

Do take ORS and Probiotics.

Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
