What Causes Diarrhea And A Skin Rash On Neck And Back?

Hello. I am a 27 year old female. I started feeling ill yesterday afternoon. My skin hurt, like when I have a fever, but took my temperature and it was normal. A few hours later I began throwing up. I feel better today. However, I have had diarrhea and am covered in a rash from my neck to my hips and my back (it does not itch). Is this the flu? Should I see a doctor?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Feeling ill followed by feeling feverish, diarrhea, vomiting and rash on the body is indicative of Gastroenteritis with septicemia giving rash on the skin.
This can certainly occur due to bacterial as well as viral infection called stomach flu.
Some treatment is common for both the conditions viz, probiotics, symptomatic treatment like that for fever, nausea, vomiting with Paracetamol, Domperidone and a PPI like Omeprazole.
Supportive treatment with multivitamins, electrolyte solutions..
Get the stool and blood tests done and if there is an infection of bacterial origin as proper course of an antibiotic, metronidazole can get the cure.
If this is due to viral, symptomatic and supportive treatment should suffice.
