Hello and welcome to HCM, Development of new moles on scrotum need to be investigated. Moles are formed due to proliferation of melanocytes or pigment containing cells in the basal layer of the skin. Proliferation of melanocytes can lead to formation of lesions varying from benign naevus or common mole to dysplastic naevus to malignant one like malignant melanoma. These pigmentary lesions are usually painless and not associated with itching. A clinical assessment of the lesions is necessary followed by biopsy to microscopically study the type of lesion.
