Hello Mr Kashish, Thanks for the query.
Using a drug like Dexona (Dexamethasone) a corticosteroid for over ten years is really not advisable. Being a strong steroid it has strong ntiallergic, antiinflammatory and other effects. It can also induce diabetes. It can aggravate osteoporosis (weak bones), plus affect liver too badly. Can cause sleep disturbances. As regards Practin which is is cyproheptadine an antihistaminic, also some times wrongly recommended as appetite stimulant, but this effect is usually seems to last as long the drug is being taken. It is not considered as drug of choice for that particular action and that too for such a long time. Since you have stopped both the drugs, it is better consult your physician and a proper assessment done of various problems that you have and initiate correct treatment. There is a need for checking whether you have developed diabetes, plus other parameters need to be checked. Thanks.
