Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have been advised to take susten 200 to regularise my period.for the past three months I was taking it from 16th day of my period to 10 days. My cycle was normal and I got periods within 29 or thirty days. But this month I did not get my period even after my 34 the day. I have stopped taking susten a week before. I took urine test at home it was negative. Shall I wait for another week and test again or should I visit my physician immediatly.
Hi I think you should wait for the periods for one more week and repeat the test. If negative, you may need a combination of oestrogen and progesterone for inducing periods. Get a thyroid profile and prolactin level and a ultrasound done to see uterus and ovaries to find out the cause of irregular periods. If anything is abnormal, it can be treated. Hope it helps.
Susten contains progesterone. Delayed period is a side effect of susten. You can repeat the home pregnancy test in 1 week. You do not have to follow up with your gynecologist immediately. If not pregnant, you will most likely get your period in next week.
Hope this answers your question Please address further questions here Regards Dr.Lekshmi
