Hi Doctor.i am ttc from past 6 months but in no vain .went to a gynac and she told me I have pcos and my DH has low sperm motility.she prescribed me duphaston10mg from cycle day 15 for fifteen days. my period is already 3 days late.does this mean Iam pregnant; I doubt it as my DH has low sperm motility ?or my periods are delayed due to taking of duphaston?is there a chance of conceiving naturally with low sperm motility ?iam confused please help.
You have PCOS and your husband has low sperm motility. If total sperm motility is less than 40% then natural pregnancy is not possible. Your delayed period could be due to hormonal imbalance by PCOD. Period will come with in 4 to 7 days as you took dupahston. When you used it for 4 to 6 months, your period will become regular.
You can also use metformin and clomiphene citrate to become pregnant. Also consult the urologist for low sperm motility and undergo complete health check up, semen culture, serum testosterone and USG scrotum and pelvis. Drugs like clomiphene citrate, gonadil F, Co Q will help to improve motility.
Avoid stress, take healthy diet with lots of fruits and green leafy vegetables, do regular exercise and maintain weight according to BMI.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Sagar
