What Causes Delayed Periods Post Removal Of Paragard IUD?
I had my paragard iud removed on the last day of my menstrual cycle. My period is now 5 days late. My husband has had a vasectomy, so there is no chance of pregnancy. Is this a common side effect? How soon can I expect my cycle to start? I have always had regular periods and am never late. Why would a non hormonal bc method disrupt my cycle?
Hello dear Understand your concern. Paragard is a copper containing IUD. Reversible contraception, used for 10 years. It make cervical mucus and make conception unfavorable.
Following are the side effect: 1. Irregular menstruation 2. Cramp pain 3. Dizziness and headache 4. Infection: most common gonorrhoea and chlymadia which lead to Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
Menstruation come to normal after 4-6 months. If problems continue, check your hormone profile and consult doctor.
Hope this may help you.
