What Causes Delayed Periods Post Delivery?

My periods hasn t started yet post delivery. I have a function in temple in a few days. I am afraid that my periods would start now. I was suggested to take Novelon tablets to delay my periods. Please suggest if it would help in the delay.Thanks in advance.

@ Cause of delayed periods post delivery is Breast feeding &
Prolactine hormone ( milk producing female hormone ) .
@ Progestin only pill is highly recommended during breast feeding rather
than Novelon ( combination drug ) for menstrual delay purpose .
