What Causes Delayed Periods After Using Althea?

Hi, I had my period last April 26 and had unprotected sex last May 2 and took ecp since I forgot to take my althea pills after my period. After I finished my ecp pack, I started using althea. I m still taking my althea, I m also just curious because I haven t had my period until now? Will I have my period after I finished my althea pack? Thank you

Hello,
Thanks for the query,

Althea pills can present with menstrual irregularities as side effects.

There can be other side effects also like :-

-Breakthrough bleeding due to pill

-Post-coital bleeding

-Bleeding form local lesions like cervical erosion or polyp etc.

The periods will get back to normal after you stop taking this drug in few months .

If this will not happen then you should consult gynecologist for proper examination and to rule out other causes .

Wishing you a good health.
Thank you
