What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking An I-pill?
Hi, I am 32/F, My last periods were on 10th Dec, 8th Jan and 5th Feb. We had unprotected sex on 25th Feb, 27th Feb and 4th March using withdrawal method. I took an ipill on 5th March as my husband wasn t sure about timely withdrawal on 4th. Now my periods have been delayed so I took a HCG urine test today on 8th March which has resulted negative. Is there a possibility of pregnancy? What could be the cause of delayed menstrual? What should we do in this case to avoid pregnancy?

Thanks for your query.
As i see you have regular cycle which means your period occur regularly after every 27/28th day.
A few points
1.the ovulation period was completed before your unprotected sex.
2.so surely hcg will be negative.
3.period is delayed becoz of i pill which you took as its ha s progesterone which stabilizies the uteus walls.. to get a period the progesterone levels has to come down... in your case it didint happened your period might get delayed for only 4 to 5 days after that you may bleed as normal
4.in case even after 55 days you have no period go for urine pregnacy test .if its positive its gud.
5.in case if its negative then further causes should be ruled out...like there might be pregancy some where else in the fallopian tube other than utrus or you may likely have PCOD.these all has to be ruled out.
