What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking Norethisterone?
I took Norethisterone when I was due my period on the 13/09. My period began on the 21/09 and lasted it s usual time. Since then I have not had a period. I have conducted pregnancy tests all are negative. I m curious as some of the information I have read is conflicting. Some suggest I will return to my usual dates other that my cycle will begin from the beginning of the delayed period. Can you advise please. Thank you.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Norethisterone can cause delay in periods. It can also cause break through bleeding within or after 3 days of stopping it. That is normal and nothing to worry. Get a transvaginal ultrasound examination to know the exact status. Thanks.
