General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Your concern is appreciated. Patients with similar queries do come to my clinic. No contraceptive has 100% success rate. Emergency contraceptives such as unwanted 72 do have high failure rate. If your periods are delayed, I would advise you to first perform a pregnancy test and get yourself checked by a gynaecologist. Sonetimes emergency contraceptive can also cause delayed or irregular periods.
