What Causes Delayed Menstrual Cycle Other Than Pregnancy?

hello, I had a miscarriage in the month of February 2015. Before that, I had my last period on 15th December 2015. In later ultrasounds, we got to know that the baby had stopped growing when it was around 5 weeks. We never heard its heartbeat. The bleeding started on 19th February 2015. After that my husband and I had unprotected sexual intercourse around 13th March 2015. I have not had my periods until now. I tested using a urine test kit and it showed positive pregnancy. However, when we took an ultrasound test yesterday, it did not show any baby. Could I be pregnant?

Hi,

USG diagnosis of pregnancy is possible only after 5 weeks pregnancy. You might have done it before that. Please repeat it at proper time. Apart from pregnancy, periods can be irregular after miscarriage. Excessive bleeding in abortion to cause anemia can cause delayed period in your case. Hormonal imbalance due to ovarian, thyroid or pituitary hormones could be another cause.
