What Causes Delay In Motor Skills In Child?

My grand daughter is 14 mos old and could sit up when placed there but could not roll over and go to a sitting position. She crawls by pulling her self around with her arms and upper torso. We have talked to an intervention group and they feel she is having problems with her gross motor skills. She can not sit still and her hands and feet are using moving most of the time except at night. She is getting further behind in this area as compared to her fraternal twin sister.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
In my opinion she is having dystonia. There is a possibility that she may have dystonic cerebral palsy. She may benefit with medication like pacitane for controlling her dystonia. Kindly consult a paediatric neurologist or a developmental paediatrician for proper assessment and prescription for medicines.
She should also receive daily neurodevelopmental therapy to achieve her milestones.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you.
