What Causes Dehydration While Suffering From Hypertension?

Hi I am a 60 year old female who has been diagnosed with hypertension. For about 21/2 years I have been taken spirondilacton 25/25 until I began to experience various symptoms to include dehydration. My doctor took me off of it over a week ago and gave me nothing in its place. Today after my blood pressure started going back up he is placing me on edarbyclor 40/25. I m reading where I should have started on40/1.25 or something. Please help me understand if this is right. Thank you

Hi Mrs Xxx! Thank you for posting your question here.
I would say that its true that edarbyclor 40/25 (azilsartan and chlortalidone) should start slowly with40/12.5 once a day for 1-2 weeks and after 2-4 weeks according to the blood pressure values can take 40/25 mg .
We do that to find out the dosage that is optimal for the blood pressure and the body get used in a patient that start a high blood pressure treatment for a first time .

In your case the doctor prescribed 40/25 cause you have been 1 week without medication and to have the full effect and your body get used need 1-2more week .So be sure the medication will start work soon he gave you 40/25.

If you have again symptoms of low blood pressure you can low the dosage to 40/12.5 , or change the medication.Only your treating doctor can do it.
Check your blood pressure 3times a day if it's low call the treating doctor to do changes .
Control your kidney function every 3 month .

Wish these help .
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask again .
I find this answer helpful
