What Causes Deep Cracks And Bleeding On Fingers While Having Psoriasis?

Hi, My wife is 45 years old. She has been suffering from foot and palm psoriasis for last 14 years. Rest of her body surface is perfect and clear. She has been using topisal 6% ointment for last 6 months and was quite effective also. But now from last 3-4 weeks she is developing painful deep cracks on her finger which sometimes bleeds also though her feet these days are quite clear. Kindly suggest. Regards

Topical steroids should be applied daily for maximum 4 week and after that maintenance therapy should be continued 2 days per week . Skin thinning is the one of the side effect of topical steroids if not used properly and the same has happened with your wife .You should discuss about it with your dermatologist . I would suggest to use steroid cream only 2 days a week from now and should also focus on lifestyle modifications like exercise daily , eat healthy diet , try to decrease weight , say no to alcohol/smoking and practice some form of relaxation exercise daily like yoga/deep breathing exercise .
