What Causes Decreased Sense Of Smell And Taste?

why should one lose sense of taste and smell at the same time? He experienced it about a year ago decreased sense of smell and taste and it came back and now it is completely gone both sense of smell and taste. Please help!. He is on blood pressure medication. Has been on it for a while.

Decrease in smell sensation/loss of smell sensation can be due to
a. Upper respiratory tract infection
b. Drugs
c. Chemical inhalation
d. Nerve injury(olfactory nerve and tract)
So, please visit your doctor for investigating the cause of your problem.
