What Causes Dark Tarry Stools?
I hAve a hx of bleeding ulcer and HHT. I ve had dark tarry stool occasionally in the last 2 weeks. But not with every bowel movement. I haven taken any different meds or eaten anything different. I haven t made an appointment because it doesn t happen with every bowel movement. Should I contact my Dr? Thanks

Black tarry stools is nothing but blood ,but we need to know the cause for that.
So as early as possible you need to consult your doctor for routine blood tests ,endoscopy and if needed a colonoscopy.
