What Causes Dark Spots On The Penis After Circumcision?

Circumcision done 12 days ago. I have extremely dark red (close to black) spots around where my penis was circumcised (near the stitches). I m assuming that they re blood but I haven t tried removing it. Also I ven noticed pus and stitches (dis-solvable ones) starting to come out of place. Should they be left as is and the pus to be cleaned/removed? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If you are noticing pus coming out at the area of the stitches you will need to see your doctor as soon as possible as this may indicate an infection. In this case, you will need antibiotics to have the infection under control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
