What Causes Dark Discoloration On The Lower Legs, Ankles And Feet?
I have bruise-like discoloration on my lower legs, ankles and tops of my feet. I have asked my doctor who sent me to a specialist that verified I do not have any circulation problem whatsoever. Then, l was sent to a dermatologist, who told me it was nothing to worry about. Everyone asks me what is wrong with my legs and I can t give them any explanation? Can you help
Hi. As per your case history you are having pigmented purpuric dermatosis. My treatment advice is - 1. Avoid standing for long periods of time and keep pillows below legs while sleeping. 2. Apply a calcium dobisilate cream like Osil cream twice a day on dark skin. 3. Take a vitamin c supplement once daily for 3 months. 4. Other treatment options are oral calcium dobisilate, multivitamins and topical steroid cream given only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
