What Causes Dark Colored Urine In The Morning?

For the last 3 months my urine is very dark in the morning but as the day goes on it lights up a little. It s also has a ver bad Oder it smells like farts. I have been talking any new medicine or eating foods that would cause this. I looked this up on line and I can t figure out why this happening. My doctor gave me a urine test and it showed it was fine. He said it maybe due to drinking coffe. Is that true? I ve been drinking coffee for many many years and I never had this problem. Please help!!!!!

Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Dark colored urine during early morning, is possibly due to concentration of urine overnight due to little quantity of fluids being taken. This has caused dehydration and concentrated urine.
2. As the day progresses, day hydration will improve and it would become light colored. Additionally coffee has diuretic effect, which will produce more urine, hence it will be light colored.
3. Take good amount of water, more than usual in nights to maintain adequate hydration. Medications, if any in the night, needs to be looked closely. Take plenty of water and cranberry juice to prevent risk of any urinary tract infection. As urine test is fine, it should be due to hydration. Hope there is no abdominal pain or fever.
