What Causes Dark Brownish Mole On Buttocks?

I just had a mole removed from under my right buttock cheek and I do not know how long it was there. It was flat brown on one side and raised black on the other. I am very concerned because I do not know how long it was growing there. My results should be in this week. He did a shaved biopsy but really didn y comment on his thoughts of what it was. Since this area gets no sun,can it be melanoma?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
welcome to HCM.

Since you have removed your mole over buttocks and the removed tissue has been sent for biopsy and you are waiting for the results.

It is very rare that this kind of mole can be turned out into malignant melanoma.

So,I would say there is no need to be worried about it.

Just wait for the result and it will give final confirmation.Your doctor may advise you better.
