What Causes Cravings To Eat Non Food Items?

Hiii!! I am MBBS Student.My problem is I have cravings for chalk,slate pencils,graphite pencils.I know it s due to calcium and iron deficiency.I am taking the supplements for it.But instead of eating supplements, I have very strong urge to eat chalks etc.I used toeat slate and graphite pencils in very large amounts.I want to know how it affected my health?
