What Causes Cramps In The Buttocks While On Amoxicillin And Tylenol?
I have had a terrible toothache and I have been taking ibuprofen and tylenol for a few months. I am now on amoxicilon and motoring and tylenol. I am cramping all the way to my butt. I am not constipated I have pooped 3 times today. Is this the medication or there s a 5% chance I could have been pregnant though Im pretty sure I wasn t. I am in a lot of pain and it comes and goes.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Some people do experience gastro-intestinal upset when they take amoxicillin. Stomach discomfort is a common side effect of amoxicillin. Symptoms include abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Taking your dose of amoxicillin with a meal may help prevent this side effect. To cope with an upset stomach, eat bland, easy to digest foods like soups, crackers, and toast. Peppermint is thought to help upset stomach symptoms. You can take antinausea medication if necessary. If you experience severe, prolonged abdominal pain or see blood in your vomit or stool, seek medical attention immediately. If you have any suspicion of pregnancy it is better to stop amox. It is better to stop any antibiotic in the first few weeks of pregnancy. Since you have a doubt about pregnancy get a urine pregnancy test done. If the doubt still persists an abdominal ultrasound scan will suggest whether you are pregnant or not.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
