What Causes Cramps After A Colonoscopy For Polyp Removal?
I had a colonoscopy last Wednesday and had a polyp removed and the Doctor had to force the scope through one area because it was restricted , now I m still having cramps and it actually starting to feel worse. What should I do? I did have an appointment today and she it s nothing to worry about but this time is different than the previous 2 that I ve had.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. One of the most important reasons for cramps after colonoscopy and polyp removal is obviously the perforation of the marge intestine. Bleeding within the wall of the colon. Bleeding in the lumen and so on. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Rush to the ER. X-ray of the abdomen in standing position. CT scan and if required colonoscopy if possible. Nil really. Intravenous fluids and and antibiotics. Further management as per the clinical evaluation, examination and investigations>
