What Causes Cracking Of Neck While On Fosamax For Osteoporosis?
I ve been taking Fosamax for 3 months for osteoporosis of the spine. . I notice that my neck cracks sometimes. It doesn t hurt but it feels like it might move and get stuck a different direction. Tonight I was standing talking and it kept happening for about 10 seconds. It almost felt like my neck was going to crack. Could this be a side effect of the Fosamax? This is bothering me and thinking I should call my doctor
1. Fosamax (alendronate) is a biphosphonate which you are using for osteoporosis, has Musculoskeletal pain as a serious side effect, and your complaint might be attributed to the chronic use of the same.
2. Check with your ESR, CRP levels along with Alkaline Phosphatase and Parathormone levels (which could be increased), and it could be possible that you might have to be discontinued from Fosamax therapy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
